Player Interview with Kenneth Page – ESPN/Under Armour All-American Practice

Updated January 8, 2008...
.
Last week I was able to get a chance with Kenneth Page, the outstanding OL from A.C. Flora High School in Columbia, SC. He really enjoyed his experience throughout the week, he said “The experience here is great, I’m having a great time, everybody here is great. The intensity that’s here at practice, I feel like I’ve taken my game to a whole new level. The coaching here is great, I’m learning a new technique, I’ve never played Guard before but I’ve been working at Guard all week. It’s been a great experience going against guys like Omar Hunter, Jawhan Edwards, and Jarvis Humphrey; all three are great defensive guys.”
Page said the toughest Defensive Lineman he went against last week was Omar Hunter. He said Hunter was impressive “Because of his size and he runs a 4.6 to 4.7 40 yard time, he’s just the new prototype.” Page really felt like the OL on the red team was a close knit group. He singled out one OL by saying “Ben Jones the Center is a great leader; he knows every position and what to do across the board.”
I asked Page about his schools of interest, since he has a top 5 of South Carolina, Clemson, Notre Dame, Tennessee, and North Carolina. He said “I really want to get the recruiting process done as soon as possible but I’m still waiting for that 100 percent sure feeling. I will say that the 2 in-state schools in South Carolina and Clemson are really standing out right now. They stand out because they are so close and in the state of South Carolina and they are doing the toughest recruiting right now.”
Page said that what he’s looking for the most in his college choice is the “Total Package, where he would be the best fit, academics, winning program, best coaching, those are all the top factors”. When I asked Page what player he would say his game resembles, he said Shawn Andrews since he’s an OL and the Eagles are his favorite NFL team.
Page is a great person; he’s smart and was another one of my favorite recruits this past week. His film is one of the most impressive highlight videos I’ve seen this year. Once he steps foot on campus and learns the Guard position, he’s going to anchor a lucky college program’s OL for a number of years.
